Umbria: Norcia

Fortunately Norcia is good or bad across the plain, instead of Cascia. We pass the door called Massari (one of the 7 gates of the city walls). Once in Piazza San Benedetto we find all the main monuments of the city: on the right there is the Church of St. Benedict and beside the Town Hall. Across the square there is the Castellina , Diocesan museum and the city (looking at the building you wonder why his name has the form of a little castle). In the middle of the square could not miss the statue of St. Benedetto.we go to Piazza del Duomo (behind Piazza San Benedetto) to see the Cathedral of Santa Maria Argentea . Then, again by the square of St. Benedict (which is the main square) we take Sertorius Course: that is the central street of the city, one where there are restaurants, bars and many other shops, in short the life of the city. In Piazza Vittorio Veneto are the war memorial and Civic Theatre. we take a few pictures and then continue along the course. We leave the city center passing by Porta Romana and we see with pleasure that right there is a park with a kiosk and games for children. We went up the road along the walls. From door Valledonna we return into the old town, we stop to take pictures of what is called the "Temple" (I could not describe it, so I'll leave the photos I took, along with the rest on the bottom of the post). From there we continue straight on "via delle Vergini" we arrive at the church of "Sant'Antonio Abate". We decide to go out again from the walls to see Medieval Source
We return to Sertorius course and stop at the bar "doppio zero". The bar is very nice and quiet: from out there say much, but when we are facing, we realized that he was practically in the courtyard of a building. As for dinner we stopped at the "Taverna de'Massari", where an average price (24 euros per person, excluding wine), we dined very well indeed: an appetizer of pork products (eaten in place of the first), a first (with truffles) and two seconds (one always truffle). However, I will talk about the best restaurant in the post dedicated to restaurant reviews.I leave you now with some pictures.
